Boilermaker Individual

The Boilermaker Individual is an NCAA Division I men's golf tournament hosted by Purdue University at the Kampen-Cosler Golf Course, part of the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, Indiana. The course, designed by Pete Dye, is a challenging 18-hole, par-72 layout known for its links-style features such as large bent-grass greens, sand bunkers, native grasslands, ponds, and a celery bog. The event typically features individual golfers from various Division I programs, including schools like Illinois State, Western Kentucky, Ball State, Purdue Fort Wayne, Valparaiso, Loyola, Toledo, South Dakota State, Nebraska, Ohio, Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois, and Butler. It is conducted over two days with stroke play format, with tee times typically spanning the morning. The tournament is held concurrently with the Purdue Fall Invitational but focuses on individuals competing on the Birck Boilermaker Golf Course, different from the team event at Kampen-Cosler. The Boilermaker Individual is a significant early-season competition providing valuable playing experience on a nationally recognized course.
